Metformin Hydrochloride tablets are indicated for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus that couldn’t be well controlled by diet alone, especially for patients with obesity and hyperinsulinism. Metformin Hydrochloride tablets not only have blood glucose-lowering action, but also have the effect of losing weight and hyperinsulinemia.  Metformin Hydrochloride tablets in combination with an anti-diabetic agent such as sulfonylurea, glycosidases inhibitors or thiazolidinediones in the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes who did not achieve adequate glycemic control on monotherapy with any of these drugs will achieve better therapeutic effectiveness. It is also administrated with insulin to reduce the dose of insulin.
